When Valie is not working she enjoys baseball, music, traveling and taking care of her own 4 legged babies, Madison, Morgan and Stripe. Jessica Speas has literally grown up at Crescenta Cañada Pet Hospital (her dad is Dr. Speas). Growing up she worked in many different areas of the pet hospital and she quickly understood the importance of the human animal bond. Jessica never thought about a career as a veterinarian but knew that she could do more as a manager. In 2002 Jessica became the Hospital Administrator and oversees the daily operations of the pet hospital. In February 2010 she was awarded the designation of Certified Veterinary Practice Manager with the Veterinary Hospital Management Association. Outside of the pet hospital Jessica is a sports fan and enjoys spending time near the beach. Jessica’s two dogs, Maxie and June Bug can often be seen at the pet hospital; they spend most days in her office with her.
Gwen enjoys spending time at home with her Golden Retriever Rennie and her cat Jake.

Valerie Martinez (Valie) joined Crescenta Cañada Pet Hospital in 2006 and began her veterinary career as a kennel technician. Valie chose to work in the veterinary profession as a result of her lifelong love of animals. In 2007 Valie was appointed our Kennel Manager and has revolutionized the kennel department. She takes great pride in her work and her goal is always to make every pet feel like this is their home away from home.
Gwen Liwag has been in the front office of Crescenta Cañada Pet Hospital since 2001. Prior to working in a veterinary hospital Gwen had previously work in customer service, and with her love of animals the veterinary profession is a great fit. Gwen became the Office Manager in 2006. As a long time resident of the Crescenta Valley Gwen finds it rewarding to do a job she is passionate about in a community that she loves.
